Agile @ ableneo monthly update — May

AI may not be running wild in the streets (thankfully!), but that hasn’t stopped everyone with an internet connection from becoming self-proclaimed analysts and prophets. Instead of just giving my own view on the matter in a blog post (yet), here are a few other authors I’d like to highlight, along with some side comments.

  1. How Scrum Masters can profit from AI — Let’s start with the positive side. I must admit, I love the proposed use cases here. As a Scrum Master or Agile Coach, I’d be more than happy to step back from the guessing game of predictions and estimates. But there’s a crucial challenge to overcome first: ensuring the reliable and secure feeding of data to the AI.
  2. ChatGPT will make Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters redundant — in less than 2 years — If you’re looking for a revolution, I hate to disappoint you, despite the promises made by the author. I must say, the responses from ChatGPT are impressive — precise, accurate, and actionable. However, being a Scrum Master entails more than that. It requires skills like asking the right questions and properly acting on them, not to mention being there in the trenches with your teams unless you plan to run your team solely through chat conversations, of course.
  3. Meet your AI Scrum Master — Well, that didn’t take long, did it? Spinach claims to integrate seamlessly with your tools, generating meeting notes, action items, and even Jira tickets. Give it a try and see for yourself; you might be pleasantly surprised. Just make sure your IT security is on board, as that’s bound to be a major topic of concern. But let’s not even get started on the differences between a Scrum Master and a secretary…

So, have you experimented with AI or ChatGPT for your teams? Are you satisfied with the responses you’ve received so far?
